- ➤ Olmsted County is offering free disposal of real Christmas trees and holiday waste at the compost site next to the recycling center from now through March. Residents must remove non-compostable items; fake trees must be recycled for a fee & wrapping paper thrown in the garbage. KTTC
- ➤ Rochester offers multiple weekend events including a scavenger hunt and guided art classes at Art Heads Emporium on Fri, Sat, and Sun. A Bull’s Beirhouse ugly sweater party and family-friendly activities at Little Thistle and Salem Glen Winery give options for all ages + fun for every interest. KROC-AM
BUSINESS NEWS
- ➤ JCPenney in Rochester saw a busy Friday as customers returned holiday items with receipts, while stores accepted most returns within 60 days and jewelry within 30 days. Additional staff were on hand to manage the extra rush from the extended return period. KIMT
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ RASC said that despite low snowfall over the Christmas holiday, Gamehaven Park now offers winter sports with artificial snow covering 2.5 miles of trails. David Herbert said the park supports Nordic skiing, cross-country skiing, sledding, tubing and fat tire biking through cooperation with Parks and Recreation. KIMT
