- ➤ Papa Murphy’s in Rochester will host an online order fundraiser on September 17 to support Annunciation Catholic Church and School after last month’s mass shooting. Local owners will donate 50% of order proceeds when customers use the code HOPE during checkout. KTTC
BUSINESS NEWS
- ➤ Downtown Rochester will launch a retail popup pilot program this fall to fill empty storefronts with local businesses testing new ideas from mid-September through early January. The initiative by the Rochester Downtown Alliance and Destination Medical Center offers low-risk leases and financial incentives—boosting foot traffic and new shopping and dining experiences. KIMT

- ➤ Rochester Civic Theatre will open its production of The Prom on September 18 with performances running until October 5 and an ASL-interpreted show on September 25—this musical addresses themes of acceptance and laughter. KIMT
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ RPU has issued a boil water advisory for southwest Rochester after a tree fell on a power line this morning, causing a loss of water pressure in the Willow Heights High Level zone. Power was restored within 25 minutes but RPU is testing water quality and expects results within 24 hours—residents should boil water for all uses until the advisory is lifted. KROC-AM
- ➤ MnDOT completed a $3.8M project to convert the four-way intersection at Hwy. 63 and 18th Ave. NW north of Rochester into a roundabout that improves traffic flow and safety—crews began work on June 2 and the agency will next focus on a roundabout at another Hwy. 63 intersection with a public meeting scheduled for September 23 at Farmington Town Hall. - ➤ Rochester Public Utilities issued a boil water advisory today for customers in the Willow Heights High Level pressure zone after a fallen tree knocked down a power line and caused a loss of water pressure. The utility restored power within 25 minutes and will report water test results within 24 hours (customers should boil all water for one minute before use). KROC
