ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Jesse Smith, an art teacher at Austin High School, fell from a ladder while cutting a tree in his backyard over Labor Day weekend and was flown to St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester with 10 broken ribs, a lacerated lung and a broken collarbone—after surgery to place titanium and clear a blood clot, he is now moving out of the ICU to begin recovery. - ➤ A 102-year-old passenger—Robert Allison Mason—was taken to a Lake City hospital after his pick-up truck collided with a semi at the intersection of Hwy. 61 and Staehli Park Rd. in Goodhue County on Tuesday before 7:30 a.m., while all other occupants escaped without injury. KROC-AM

- ➤ A Rochester man, 24-year-old Divaunte Kartrell Young, was sentenced today to 15 years in federal prison for possessing a firearm after he threatened a woman with a gun and later attempted to bribe her to lie about the incident in March—federal prosecutors described him as a career criminal who posed a great danger to the public.
