ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Jesse Smith, an art teacher at Austin High School, fell from a ladder while cutting a tree in his backyard over Labor Day weekend and was flown to St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester with 10 broken ribs, a lacerated lung and a broken collarbone—after surgery to place titanium and clear a blood clot, he is now moving out of the ICU to begin recovery.  KROC
  • A 102-year-old passenger—Robert Allison Mason—was taken to a Lake City hospital after his pick-up truck collided with a semi at the intersection of Hwy. 61 and Staehli Park Rd. in Goodhue County on Tuesday before 7:30 a.m., while all other occupants escaped without injury.  KROC-AM
  • Jesse Smith, an art teacher at Austin High School, suffered serious injuries when he fell from a ladder after a tree fell in his backyard over Labor Day weekend and he was flown to St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester where he underwent surgery on Monday—he is now being moved from the ICU to the general ward to begin recovery.  KROC-AM

CRIME NEWS

  • A Rochester man, 24-year-old Divaunte Kartrell Young, was sentenced today to 15 years in federal prison for possessing a firearm after he threatened a woman with a gun and later attempted to bribe her to lie about the incident in March—federal prosecutors described him as a career criminal who posed a great danger to the public.  KROC
