  • Bishop Bernard Harrington died on Saturday. He served as the seventh bishop of the Winona-Rochester Diocese — he led church programs and funeral plans are pending.  KTTC

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A two-vehicle crash in Rochester just before 10 a.m. injured Byron man Kyle Ryan Krenske, who was taken to St. Marys Hospital when a small SUV turning left from Civic Center Drive Northwest hit his car, while the SUV driver Lynn Marie Mishark of Scottsdale was not hurt, the State Patrol said.  KROC

CRIME NEWS

  • A Wisconsin woman was convicted of motor vehicle theft and property damage after she used a stolen car to hit a parked vehicle four times at a southeast Rochester apartment complex earlier this year—surveillance footage linked her actions to the crime and led to her arrest in April.  KROC
  • A jury in Olmsted County convicted 45-year-old Christina Marie Sievert of Wisconsin for stealing a vehicle from a bar on North Broadway and ramming a parked car at a southeast Rochester apartment complex earlier this year—surveillance footage showed her repeated actions.  KROC-AM
  • Jermaine Jabaar Typray Barker, a Rochester man—known as Pooh—died from multiple gunshot wounds in a downtown Minneapolis shooting near 8th Street North and Hennepin Avenue early on August 27, and authorities have not yet made any arrests.  KIMT

FINANCE NEWS

  • Mayo Clinic’s net income fell 12% to $394 million in the second quarter as expenses grew faster than revenues, with total revenue rising 6.7% to over $5.34 billion and expenses increasing 8.5% compared to last year—investment returns jumped from $49 million to $580 million. This filing is part of the required report for municipal bonds used to finance economic development projects.  KROC-AM
