- ➤ Rochester Catholic Schools canceled all after-school activities—President Tina Monosmith offered heartfelt condolences and prayers for families affected by this morning's mass shooting at Annunciation Catholic Church and School in Minneapolis. KTTC
- ➤ Court hearings for former trooper Shane Roper are rescheduled to Oct.21 as his defense plans to use public opinion survey results to support moving his trial for criminal vehicular homicide out of Olmsted County — the trial remains slated for March 2026 after the May 2024 crash that killed Olivia Flores. - ➤ A homeless man, 37-year-old David Joseph Anthony Proszek with a previous felony, allegedly struck a man three times on the head with a hammer during a verbal exchange at a Rochester park Monday evening shortly before 6:00 p.m.—he now faces charges of second-degree assault and gross misdemeanor fifth-degree assault with $50,000 bail and a court date set for next month. - ➤ Two Rochester residents, Abdirahman Omar Yusuf (20) and Ayan Abdiweli Othowaa (23), were charged with felony conspiracy to commit theft after they falsely claimed victim status in a racial slur incident at a local park to secure funds from a NAACP fundraiser. KTTC
