- ➤ Rochester police arrested 23-year-old Carlos Samaniego after a verbal dispute at a party escalated into a stabbing at around 3 a.m. Sunday in an apartment on the 2000 block of 8 1/2 Street SE, and he was booked at the Olmsted County Adult Detention Center for second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon. - ➤ On Monday, Rochester Police asked for help finding 84-year-old Evelyn Costa—who has dark brown hair, is very petite, and was last seen in a gray sweatsuit at the Kahler Grand Hotel around 5 p.m. and near Central Park at 7:30 p.m.—with anyone having information urged to call Dispatch at 507-328-6800. - ➤ Simona Montiel Vera is accused of driving drunk at over 100 mph in the wrong direction for 13 miles on Highway 52 on September 14, causing a car crash that killed Rochester woman Larae Lynne Post and injured a 25-year-old driver, and she now faces 11 felony charges including vehicular homicide, vehicular operation, and fleeing police—charges filed by Goodhue County Court after a deputy chased her. - ➤ A Rochester man, 43-year-old Deangelo Martez Rucker, was charged with smuggling methamphetamine into the Olmsted County jail on July 21 while already held on robbery charges—he was released without bail after his court hearing on July 29. KROC-AM
- ➤ Rochester police say a drive-by shooting early Saturday on the 2300 block of 18 1/2 Avenue NE wounded one man who was taken to St. Marys Hospital with non-life threatening injuries - officers say the shooting was not random. KIMT
- ➤ Officers with the Rochester Police Department are investigating a drive-by shooting that occurred over the weekend shortly after 4 a.m. along 18 1/2 Avenue NW—one man was taken to Mayo Clinic Hospital, St. Marys Campus with non-life-threatening injuries and authorities say the shooting was not random.
