  • Rochester will host National Night Out today from 6:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at High Pointe Lane NW, where residents can enjoy food and fun with the Rochester Fire Department & Rochester Police Department amid mostly sunny weather and a chance of stray showers from wildfire smoke.  KIMT

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • On Tuesday morning, a Rochester driver, Jose Munoz Dominguez, 23, was hurt when his 2014 GMC Sierra went off eastbound Interstate 90 near the Dexter exit—he hit a fence and was taken to St. Marys Hospital with help from the Mower County Sheriff’s Office.  KIMT
  • A 23-year-old Rochester man was injured in a single-vehicle crash on I-90 near Dexter when his pick-up truck left the road Tuesday morning—he was taken to St. Mary’s Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.  KROC-AM

CRIME NEWS

  • Rochester police raided two apartments earlier this summer and charged 28-year-old Aries Nyee Candler with first-degree drug sales and possession after officers found over 170 grams of cocaine and related evidence while searching (4321 Boxwood Place NW) and (1111 41st Street NW); his bail was set at $100,000 following a 2016 drug sales conviction.  KROC
  • Deputies responded near Elgin around 7 a.m. when a stolen car crashed into another vehicle and the suspect then fled on foot after breaking into a nearby home—authorities have since lifted the shelter in place order but the active manhunt continues.  KROC
  • Rochester law enforcement raided two apartments in June and found over 170 grams of cocaine, cash and drug paraphernalia — 28-year-old Aries Nyee Candler was charged with first-degree drug sales and possession and appeared in court on Tuesday with bail set at $100,000.  KROC-AM

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Olmsted County Board of Commissioners released the 2025 Resident Survey results, showing about 80% of residents rate the county as a good place to live and feel safe — though many want more affordable childcare and greater government transparency. County leaders will use the feedback to guide future improvements.  KIMT
