- ➤ Eyota Days is celebrating 150 years since its founding — featuring a pop-up museum at the Fire Hall that shows town artifacts — with events like a bean bag tournament, grand parade, and outdoor vending. Mayor Tyrel Clark said many volunteers played a key role as the festival continues today with a waffle breakfast. KTTC
- ➤ Good Earth Village in Spring Valley held a ribbon cutting ceremony on Friday to mark the completion of two new buildings that add 54 beds in four cabins, bathrooms and a kitchen area that will serve up to 360 campers over eight weeks. The project cost about $400,000 and was funded by donations from family members + local organizations. KTTC
- ➤ Ms. Flora’s Pathway to Peace opened its doors Saturday on Fifth Avenue Northwest, offering nine-bed sober transitional housing at two Rochester locations — director Stephanie Whitehorn said the program bridges the local housing gap by providing a safe, drug-free environment — and now seeks community donations and volunteer support to expand its services. - ➤ Rochester police said a homeless man attacked another man at Soldiers Field Park around 10 a.m. on Wednesday with a metal pole, causing serious facial injuries + the suspect faces felony assault and misdemeanor charges with bail set at $100,000. KROC-AM
- ➤ Raymond Gurneau Jr., already in Faribault prison for a 2019 burglary conviction, was sentenced to 24 months for using stolen credit cards in Rochester stores+ he pleaded guilty to fraud and computer theft charges based on video evidence from several businesses. KROC-AM
