- ➤ The Old School Arcade in Rochester restarted its axe-throwing league on July 3 after a quiet period from the pandemic—operators needed 20 more signups before passes stopped selling at 5:30 p.m. that day, and the tournament winner received a three-month pass to enjoy over 50 retro arcade games. CRIME NEWS
- ➤ At 11:30 a.m. today, Rochester Police responded to a fatal shooting on 41st Street NW — after finding a man shot outside an apartment building and attempting lifesaving measures — and they urged anyone who saw suspicious activity to call 911. KTTC
- ➤ Rochester Police responded to a fatal shooting outside an apartment complex in the 1000 block of 41st Street early Thursday morning—no arrests have been announced as the investigation continues. KROC-AM
- ➤ A 22-year-old woman was arrested after hitting a male pedestrian and driving into a squad car around 5 a.m. Thursday morning in the parking lot of the Riverview Suits apartment complex (the pedestrian was taken by Mayo Clinic Ambulance with non-life-threatening injuries), police said. KROC-AM

- ➤ Daniel Ott, a senior at Holmen High School, earned a fourth-place finish at the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair with an adjustable aircraft nose cone developed over nearly a year — aided by a Winona industrial supply company that used new machining tools to craft his design — and he plans to study aerospace engineering. - ➤ Mayor Norton traveled with Prof Joel Traver and students to Siheung City in South Korea to explore workforce training, renewable energy and cultural exchange—touring historic sites, energy facilities and local universities. The group met with local officials at City Hall and attended cultural performances while planning a reciprocal visit by a Siheung delegation in 2026—strengthening their sister city partnership. KIMT

- ➤ The Rochester City Council is set to vote on the design for the outdoor part of the planned sports complex Monday evening. The plan calls for eight artificial turf baseball/softball fields, two artificial turf soccer fields and 12 pickleball courts with a $65 million price tag funded by sales tax dollars (voters approved the tax in November).
