  • Fr. John Sauer celebrated his 40th priestly anniversary after the Corpus Christi procession on Sunday—community members at Pax Christi Catholic Church honored his decades of service. He said Christ's love motivates him every day as he reflects on his work in Winona, Rochester, and other local communities.  KTTC
  • Mayo Clinic officials celebrated the reopening of Peace Garden Dr.—a key road near the St. Mary’s campus that had been closed since March for work on a $5 billion campus expansion. The ceremony at the Sister Lauren Weinandt Gazebo featured a peace blessing and a tree planting to honor clinic staff.  KROC

CRIME NEWS

  • Corey Keigher and his ex-wife were sentenced after admitting to stealing more than $125K from a vulnerable elderly Rochester resident in a case that began in December 2022 — he received two years on probation while his ex-wife got five years and they were ordered to pay nearly $80,000 in restitution — following an investigation by the Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office.  KROC
  • A Rochester man pled guilty to aiding and abetting financial exploitation of a vulnerable adult by stealing more than $125K from an elderly resident in a memory care facility—Corey Keigher was sentenced to two years probation while he and his ex-wife must pay nearly $80K in restitution—court records show.  KROC-AM
  • Rochester police are asking for help finding 14-year-old Layla Sue Spandau-Nelson—she was last seen in northwest Rochester wearing a light grey hoodie, pink pajama pants, white sneakers with pink accents and a grey and black backpack, and anyone with information should call 5073286800 or 911.  KROC-AM

ECONOMY NEWS

  • A report from the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development shows Rochester added over 5,750 jobs in the past year for a 4.5% growth rate—last month the city added about 6,400 jobs while other metro areas saw growth under 1%.  KROC-AM
