- ➤ Think Bank and the Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines have announced that $1 million in grant funding will be awarded over the next two weeks to 28 Minnesota organizations including several in Rochester—this funding will support affordable housing, food security, youth mentorship, education, and mental health services. CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Rochester police investigated a body found Thursday morning in North Park on the 6000 block of Hillsboro Drive NW and are working with the Southern Minnesota Regional Medical Examiner’s Office to identify the person and determine the cause of death—there is no known danger to the public. KIMT
- ➤ RPD was dispatched to North Park just after 7 a.m. Thursday after a call reported a deceased person and is working with the Southern Minnesota Regional Medical Examiner’s Office to identify the victim and determine the cause of death—officials said there is no public threat. KTTC
- ➤ A 36-year-old woman died after being injured around 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday in the West Newton area and a Rochester man was taken into custody in the Chester Woods area + police said a previous relationship existed between them as the investigation continues. KIMT
- ➤ A Rochester man was arrested on suspicion of second-degree murder and first-degree manslaughter at Chester Woods Park in connection with Melissa Hunt's death and a prior relationship with her—he is now held in the Wabasha County jail—authorities reported. KROC-AM
