The NAACP invites everyone to join its 20th Annual Juneteenth Celebration on Saturday, June 14 from Noon to 5 p.m. at Rev.

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Park—live music, food vendors, games and free health tests will honor the end of slavery and engage the community in this important celebration.

On Monday, golfers took part in the 47th Annual Swing Your Birdie Golf Classic at Somerby Golf Club in Byron — the event raised funds for Ronald McDonald House Charities Midwest that gives families lodging and essential services in Rochester.

Olmsted County is accepting applications for eight cannabis microbusiness licenses until 5 p.m. on June 20, and if more than eight complete applications are received a public lottery — managed by county elections staff — will select the winners while applicants must pay a $100 fee, pass a background check, and secure a business location with three alternates chosen if needed.

A Rochester woman, 49-year-old Buffy Jo Bathke, was sentenced on Monday to five years probation and ordered to pay over $16,500 in restitution for exploiting a vulnerable adult she cared for + she was previously convicted for similar financial theft in 2023 + making this her second offense.
