- ➤ The City of Rochester Parks and Recreation Department is marking the 50th anniversary of AccessABLE Recreation, a program that began in 1975 with arts and crafts, swimming and summer camps and now serves over 1,700 people annually with sports, music, dances and holiday events — the effort has helped people of all abilities build skills and friendship. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Site preparation work is set to start this fall on the $91 million Highway 14/County Road 44 interchange project on Rochester’s west edge as county officials work to secure all 30 needed properties, with 10 deals already agreed upon. Construction will begin next spring — state funds will cover $62.5 million of the cost — and be completed by fall 2027. KROC-AM

- ➤ Stephanie Vetter has been named the first director of Any Path Home—an initiative involving 10 public and private groups working to improve housing paths for adults facing homelessness in Olmsted County. She will use her two decades of expertise to develop quality data that will guide local decisions. KIMT
- ➤ MnDOT began construction today at the intersection of Highway 63/75th Street NW and Olmsted County Road 112 to build a roundabout that aims to reduce fatal accidents. The $3.8 million project — which includes detour signs—is expected to be completed by mid-August. KTTC
- ➤ Today, the Rochester Airport Commission approved an over $12 million bid to renovate and expand the general aviation ramp by replacing the old pavement and adding improvements like better drainage, new lighting and a taxing lane. The project will use funding from the FAA, a state grant and local sources—construction will start this fall and finish in 2026. KIMT
