- ➤ Cub Foods in NW Rochester will permanently close its 88,500 sqft store on May 30 after a two-year run (the closing sign confirmed the change), while the attached Cub Wine and Spirits stays open until its license transfers to the South Rochester location. KROC-AM
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ University of Minnesota experts advise residents to tune up mowers and clean up lawns as the season advances, noting that mowed, watered, and fertilized lawns help keep crabgrass at bay. Additionally, since Jan. 1, 2025, products with intentionally added PFAS are banned in Minnesota (check labels for safe options). KROC-AM

- ➤ Rochester City Council will vote Monday on nearly $1.4 million in TIF assistance for The Common at Bear Creek, a 149-unit affordable housing project near downtown Rochester + construction is scheduled to begin before August and finish by year’s end. KROC-AM
- ➤ Bernie Sanders visited John Marshall High School Saturday as part of his Fighting Oligarchy Tour and addressed more than 1,000 people on ideas for single-payer healthcare and stronger wealth taxes.
