- ➤ Rochester’s Parks and Recreation Department and RNeighbors will host a community tree planting event on May 9 at Sunset Terrace Elementary School where volunteers plant 150 boulevard trees in the Sunset Terrace neighborhood (free pizza and water will be provided after planting). KIMT
- ➤ Rochester Public Utilities and community partners hosted the Arbor Day celebration on Friday at McQuillan Field Park (free trees, live music, games for kids, and an appearance by Smokey Bear) and moved indoors to the RCTC Field House if extreme weather occurred. KTTC
- ➤ Visitors and locals are taking advantage of the warm spring weather this weekend by exploring local businesses downtown. Restaurants have added outdoor seating and detour signs (Detours Lead to Discoveries) guide people away from construction and toward new spots. KIMT
- ➤ Bonny Albers, a longtime resident east of Eyota, said a tornado turned her farm into a disaster by damaging her stone barn, home, and other structures. She noted cleanup could take months (neighbors have already stepped in to help). KTTC
- ➤ Winnie, a shy Australian Cattle Dog missing since March 23, was trapped at the Kalmar landfill last night by local trapper Missy and returned to Paws and Claws where she now receives proper care + adoption evaluation pending. KROC-AM

- ➤ A visitor from Tukwila won $259,644 playing blackjack on Wednesday night at Treasure Island Resort + Casino, marking the second-largest table games jackpot in its history. The progressive payout came from a rare match between the player and dealer. KROC-AM
