- ➤ Officials hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 1 p.m. on April 23rd outside the Salvation Army Good Samaritan Health Clinic to celebrate its 30th anniversary—marking three decades of providing care to uninsured and low-income workers along Broadway Avenue. KTTC
- ➤ North Star Honor Flights completed its first journey today—sending 80 veterans from Rochester to Washington DC for tours of Arlington Cemetery and war memorials. The non-profit plans to host more trips later this year with 50 to 100 veterans per flight and has begun fundraising for an early fall trip. KIMT
- ➤ Family Service Rochester celebrated its new Family Resource Center last Wednesday — located inside the Gage East Empowerment Center at 930 40th Street NW — by cutting a ribbon and sharing plans to offer resources for caregivers, with funding provided by the state, Olmsted County and the Sauer Family Foundation. - ➤ Rochester police and the Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office arrested 48—year—old William Pirkl, a Byron man, Tuesday afternoon in northeast Rochester during a multi—week undercover investigation into online solicitation of a minor that led to a search of his home and his subsequent booking on suspicion of child solicitation and electronically communicating sexual conduct with a child. - ➤ Rochester street maintenance crews will begin the 2025 Mill and Overlay project on Monday as work starts across several neighborhoods—parking will be banned Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. with yellow no parking signs posted starting Thursday and violators facing tickets and towing.
