CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Authorities dropped felony assault charges against 27-year-old Jordan Tylerlee Smith, who was accused of repeatedly punching a man outside a Rochester business on September 12 last year—while his co-accused, 18-year-old Solomon Ojulu Obang, still faces a charge of aiding and abetting third-degree assault. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ MnDOT maintenance crews are closing lanes and ramps on Highway 14 and Highway 52 overnight from April 20 to 24 and from April 27 to May 1. The crews will sweep curbs, replace guardrails, and fill cracks from 10 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. — drivers are asked to slow down and move over for safety — as repair work minimizes traffic impacts. KIMT
- ➤ Rochester city officials said the Collection Bureau of America is handling parking tickets more than 45 days overdue—over 5,000 texts or emails have been sent to residents about unpaid fines, and residents can pay online, by phone, or by mail to avoid further collection actions on about $870,000 in fines dating back to 2018. - ➤ The MnDOT said drivers must slow down and move over for overnight highway work in Rochester — crews will work from 10:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. to sweep curbs, fix guardrails, fill cracks and patch potholes on Highway 14 and Highway 52 — as work is planned from April 20 to 24 and again from April 27 to May 1.
