CRIME NEWS
- ➤ An Austin man named Joshua Mortenson was ordered to pay over $17,000 in restitution after he crashed into a vehicle and a building in Rochester on November 4th—he pleaded guilty to gross misdemeanor vehicular operation and received two years probation with credit for 90 days in jail. KROC
- ➤ Rochester police say 29-year-old Emina Sabackic is a fugitive after she shot a man in the face during a drug-fueled sexual encounter on October 27th and later fled to Dublin on April 8; she faces charges of second-degree assault and illegal firearm possession. KROC-AM
- ➤ An Austin man crashed into a vehicle and a building in Rochester on November 4th while driving a stolen pickup and fleeing on foot—he accepted a plea agreement that put him on two years probation and ordered him to pay over $17,000 in restitution. KROC-AM
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ MnDOT will close select ramps and lanes on Hwy. 14 and Hwy. 52 to let crews repair guardrails, fill cracks, and sweep curbs overnight from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. The work will happen in two phases—today until Thursday, April 24 and Sunday, April 27 until Thursday, May 1. KROC
- ➤ Motorists in SE Rochester are advised that the Olmsted County Public Works Department will begin a road project on 11th Avenue SE between Highway 14 and Highway 52 on Monday, which will reduce traffic to one lane in each direction and cause delays; drivers should consider alternate routes. Officials expect the project to finish in early June (if weather cooperates). KROC
- ➤ Motorists are advised that a road project begins Monday on County Road 1 (11th Avenue SE) between Highway 14 and Highway 52, where traffic lanes will be reduced to one per direction during concrete rehabilitation and bituminous shoulder work, and the work is expected to finish in early June if weather cooperates.
