ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • On Friday, severe storms produced four tornadoes in the area — two EF-2 tornadoes near Stewartville and Viola-Plainview and EF-0 and EF-1 tornadoes in Oslo and Potsdam that caused some home damage with no injuries reported.  KTTC

  • The season two finale of Doc shows several Minnesota nods, including a reference to the Mayo (in Rochester) and a Timberwolves hat as the drama airs Tuesday at 8 p.m. CST. The show mixes genuine state touches with some creative liberties.  KROC-AM

ECONOMY NEWS

  • A new salary report finds Rochester's average annual wage is $58,083—about $27.92 per hour, $1,116 weekly, and $4,840 monthly—while another source notes averages around $80,000; the report also lists 50 non-degree career options for boosting income.  KROC-AM

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Teams from the National Weather Service in La Crosse released a damage survey from Friday's tornado outbreak that confirmed three touchdowns in Olmsted County, including an EF-2 that affected Rochester & nearby rural areas, injuring one person and damaging homes and farms.  KIMT

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Marion Rd. SE was closed Saturday from Vine Place SE to Walnut St SE for utility recovery following Friday's tornadoes that damaged over 50 homes + families welcomed displaced residents after an emergency shelter closed.   • Mayo Clinic doctors in Rochester released a review that maps new ways to treat meningioma by using molecular tests and improved imaging (helping care teams make more precise treatment choices).
