CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Rochester police are searching for two suspects who carjacked a parked vehicle near the Gates of Rochester apartment complex around 1:45 a.m. — the suspects brandished a handgun, forced the occupants from the car, and fled on foot after abandoning the vehicle. KROC-AM
- ➤ Police responded to a stabbing at The Landing at 426 3rd Ave southeast on Wednesday when 52-year-old Elizondo Ricardo Jr. stabbed a man in the upper left back during an altercation and injured another man, with both victims transported to St. Mary’s Hospital. KROC
- ➤ Authorities issued a statewide alert on April 8 for missing 65-year-old Jean Baynham who was last seen in Rochester and is believed to be heading to Iowa after vanishing on Jan 15 at a bus stop in Brooklyn Park—her family reports she suffers from mental health challenges. KROC
- ➤ Rochester police are searching for two suspects who carjacked a parked car around 1:45 a.m. near the Gates of Rochester apartment complex; the suspects brandished a handgun, forced the two occupants out, and then abandoned the vehicle on 41st St. and 16th Ave. Northwest—about a half mile from the scene—before fleeing on foot. - ➤ Rochester’s job growth slowed last month but remained the strongest in the state with a 4.7% annualized rate that added nearly 5800 jobs since last March—data from the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development show that other regions experienced lower growth over the past year. - ➤ Mayo High School math teacher Jake Johnson announced he will challenge Congressman Brad Finstad for the 1st District seat as he seeks to represent Southern Minnesota.
