ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ A crash in a southeastern Minnesota construction zone sent 26-year-old Wyatt Allen Wirth—the sole occupant of his vehicle—to St. Mary’s Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries early Sunday before 6 a.m. at the I-90/Hwy.52 interchange amid a three-year construction project in the area. KROC

- ➤ The Olmsted County Attorney’s Office dismissed felony terroristic threats and misdemeanor obscene phone call charges against a Rochester woman accused of making a death threat during a December 29 altercation where both women received minor injuries—authorities cited evidentiary issues for the decision. CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ NerdinOut Con took place over the weekend at Graham Arena (drawing over 5,000 fans) where locals cosplayed and met stars. Promoter Brad Vigesaa said the event brings pop culture to Rochester (from kids to grandparents) and adds a fun, new experience for the community. KIMT

- ➤ Thirty-eight Rochester Public Schools students on the Inconceivable 2530 robotics team are leaving today for the world championship in Houston where they will compete against 600 teams — this marks the team's second consecutive trip to the international event. KTTC
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ MnDOT said a part of Hwy. 52 near Rochester reopened on Saturday afternoon after it was closed on Tuesday for demolition on the I-90 eastbound overpass — however, motorists traveling between Rochester and Chatfield must use a detour until November. KROC-AM
- ➤ After a dryer-than-usual winter, the Minnesota Interagency Fire Center reminded residents that flying drones near wildfires is prohibited — using drones can distract firefighters and delay air support needed to control fires. KTTC
- ➤ A part of Hwy. 52 near Rochester reopened Saturday afternoon for southbound drivers to access eastbound I-90—this followed a closure for demolition work. However, the highway between Rochester and Chatfield remains closed and drivers must use a detour until November—MnDOT said. KROC
