- ➤ Voting is underway in Minnesota Energy Resources’ safe digging campaign—customers may vote as often as they like until 11:59 p.m. on April 21. The contest features the top ten dogs from across the state, including four from southeast Minnesota, and the winning ambassadog will be announced before the end of April. KTTC
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Rochester police found an unassembled ghost gun during a raid on a home in the 2550 block of Boulder Ridge Dr after a disorderly call on April 2—officers later tied the gun to 21-year-old Thout Nathan Aguek, who made his first court appearance Thursday morning and was released without bail. - ➤ A 29-year-old Oakdale man pled guilty to a felony for fleeing police after a high-speed chase on Highway 52 near Zumbrota that saw his car push nearly 125 mph, and was sentenced this week to five years on probation — which includes a one-year prison term that may be enforced, a $1000 fine and about $1300 in restitution. - ➤ A man from Oakdale drove nearly 125 mph on Highway 52 near Zumbrota on October 8, 2023 when a trooper spotted him speeding, and he later pleaded guilty to felony fleeing police after sideswiping a patrol car — he was sentenced to probation with a prison term stayed for one year, a $1,000 fine and about $1,300 in restitution.
