CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Rochester police arrested two men after reports of an active shooting near Homestead Village and Falcon Landing Apartments on September 10th, 2024—34-year-old Scott Tashaun Bunch received a five-year prison sentence with credit for 209 jail days—while Alonzo Darnell Kelly was given probation, with no injuries reported. - ➤ Byron Public Schools said an intruder broke in around 3:00 a.m. Monday at Byron High School—deputies found broken glass and a smoke-style device when they responded to a smoke alarm call—and officials confirmed that classes will continue with extra patrols planned. KIMT

- ➤ City of Rochester is seeking volunteers for its 19th annual Litter Bit Better event, which will run from April 19 to April 27. Volunteers & community members will receive trash and recycling bags to help clean local areas, with support from Durst Outdoor Services & Waste Management. KIMT

- ➤ Rochester city administrator Alison Zelms was named new chair of the League of Minnesota Cities Insurance Trust Board of Trustees as one of five city officials selected, and her term will begin in April. She has served as a trustee since 2018 and as city administrator for four years. KTTC

- ➤ Registered Dietitian Kaitlin Thompson from the Rochester Athletic Club said adding more fruits, vegetables, and probiotic foods like kombucha to your diet can boost nutrition and digestion this spring.
