  • Big retail chains with Minnesota locations have already closed or will shutter stores later this year—reflecting national shifts spurred by e-commerce, inflation, and changing consumer habits.  KROC-AM

CULTURE NEWS

  • Hyperspace Starcade on North Broadway near Caribou Coffee hosted an Easter egg hunt that featured Stitch from Disney’s Lilo and Stitch, who took photos and helped guests search for colorful and golden eggs. Local families enjoyed the unique twist on their tradition.  KTTC
  • Country singer Clint Black will perform at the Mayo Civic Center on April 17 with contest entries accepted until April 10 (doors open at 6:00 p.m. and show starts at 7:00 p.m.).  KROC-AM

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Rochester drivers face traffic changes as Hwy.52 closes at I-90 today for overpass demolition as part of a $27.5 million upgrade project — southbound drivers heading to I-90 will use Hwy.63 while others follow alternate routes via the Eyota interchange.  KROC
  • Rochester Public Utilities earned a national award from the American Public Power Association for safe, reliable electric service; the RP3 (Reliable Public Power Provider Platinum) designation will be in effect from May 1 to April 30, 2029.  KIMT
