COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Rochester Public Music invites food and beverage vendors to apply online by April 10 for the FORWARD Park Concerts summer series, held on Wednesdays from 5 to 8 p.m. at neighborhood parks. Applicants must hold an Olmsted County food license and provide their own power — space is limited.  KIMT
  • The Rotary Clubs of Rochester are collecting mobility devices (crutches, walkers, braces, and wheelchairs) for donation to Africa as part of their Crutches for Africa project. Items can be dropped off on Saturday, April 11 at 125 Live between 8 a.m. and noon.  KTTC
  • The Boys & Girls Club held its annual fundraiser A Chair Affair in February at the Hilton in downtown Rochester. The circus-themed gala featured local artists and auctions that raised funds for meals, mentoring and programs, while CEO Chad Campbell said operations would be stabilized to further support 300 children.  KTTC

CULTURE NEWS

  • Hy-Vee at 500 37th Street NW now offers a cookie designed like the famed corn cob water tower, which was restored in 2021 + became a historic landmark in 2024. The sweet treat lets locals taste a piece of our iconic history as they shop.  KROC-AM

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Inconceivable Robotics, FRC Team 2530, will host an open house on April 11 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Kellogg Middle School at 503 17th Street Northeast — visitors can tour the workshop and meet students behind its 140-pound competition robots that have won three regional events.  KIMT

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Crews from the Minnesota Department of Transportation will replace signal heads and wiring on Apr. 7 at the intersection of Highway 14 and Memorial Parkway SW near Apache Mall. Drivers may face short delays as lanes and shoulders close to improve left-turn safety — a change coordinated with the city.  KIMT
