- ➤ One woman died when a house in Northwest Rochester caught fire Monday night; the Rochester Fire Department arrived just before 11 p.m. and confirmed no additional victims while investigating the cause. KIMT
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Rochester police said that 21-year-old Jakob Jordan Barrows pleaded guilty to one count of dangerous weapons when he was seen carrying an airsoft rifle and wearing a mask on school property near Tom Kadlec Kia on June 30 (he was sentenced to two years of supervised probation and a $700 fine). - ➤ At around 11:15 p.m. Monday, multiple gunshots were fired in a Northwest Rochester neighborhood and police later found a male with gunshot wounds at a gas station on 55th Street and Bandel Road Northwest—an investigation is ongoing. KTTC
- ➤ Rochester police have set bail at $50,000 for 26-year-old Keith Cabrera Mendoza who was charged with first-degree drug sales after a law enforcement‐facilitated fentanyl buy recorded his sale of over 40 M30 pills—his second felony charge this year after a January jewelry store theft. KROC-AM
- ➤ A law enforcement-facilitated fentanyl buy led to a felony drug sales charge against 26-year-old Keith Cabrera Mendoza, marking his second felony case this year and adding to a criminal record that includes a 2023 drug conviction—his bail was set at $50,000 and he will face a court hearing in April. - ➤ Rochester School District is considering tweaks to school start times for next school year as Superintendent Kent Pekel said staff are reviewing survey results on shifting the elementary start 15 minutes earlier—changes that could also affect secondary schools—with a decision expected in a few weeks.
