COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Channel One Regional Food Bank got a 40,000 lb food donation from America250, LDS and JustServe with Mayor Kim Norton — part of a national drive. The donation will provide 48,000 meals in its 14-county area and volunteers will pack food today from 5 to 7 p.m.  KIMT

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Today, local visitors can view a detailed LEGO model of Mayo Clinic’s Bold. Forward. Unbound. expansion in the Gonda Building lobby. The project will add five new buildings and 2.4 million sqft — with 6,000 new jobs — by 2030.  KROC-AM
  • Tinn's closed its 2nd Street location in Rochester today due to ongoing construction challenges and said it will search for a new home to better serve local customers. The Northfield location remains open for food and catering.  KROC-AM

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • A Mayo Clinic doctor plans to file for a new trial after losing his February case over claims of retaliation for sharing research findings. His team will submit notice by Monday, Mar. 30 at the Rochester courthouse + Mayo Clinic is seeking over $250,000 in costs.  KTTC
  • The EPA issued a temporary emergency waiver so gas stations can sell E-15 fuel this summer, which may lower gas prices and benefit drivers and farmers in the area — local senators support a move toward permanent access as part of broader rural energy improvements.  KTTC

HEALTH NEWS

  • The Minnesota Department of Health released updated fish consumption guidelines for 2026 to reduce mercury and PFAs exposure. In Northeast Minnesota, anglers should catch fish under 17 inches and eat only one fish per month, while elsewhere the limit is under 20 inches.  KROC-AM
  • Olmsted County Public Health Services is celebrating 25 years of its tuberculosis clinic this April by offering TB testing and treatment to local residents and partner counties. Mayo Clinic physicians support services that have reached record pre-COVID appointment levels.  KIMT
