  • Saturday evening, residents near Crystal Cold’s facility on 15th Street smelled an ammonia leak that led emergency responders to expand the evacuation zone, send Alert Iowa notifications plus perform door-to-door checks while officials investigated the cause, leaving some locals seeking more answers.  KTTC

CULTURE NEWS

  • USA Today named the Minnesota Food Truck Festival a top 10 city food festival in the US. The event will take place in Hopkins on May 9, Minneapolis on Aug. 1, and Anoka on Aug. 15 — featuring food trucks, live music and free admission.  KROC-AM

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Sen. Liz Boldon introduced Senate File 3982 on Tuesday to restore $1 million in funding for Rochester Public Schools' School Based Mental Health Scholars program (helping teachers earn social work degrees at Winona State University) after a 2025 grant cut left participants facing higher loan needs.  KIMT

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • A Dodge County non-profit raised $30K at The Studio Events on Main Street in Kasson Saturday to support local law enforcement and upgrade drone technology for search and rescue. Sheriff Scott Rose also announced his plan to run for a fourth term in the fall.  KTTC
