GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Olmsted County is updating its parks master plans after gathering input from over 800 residents between June and October 2025, and the Parks and Trails department will present the plans for approval in late 2026 — with additional feedback expected this summer to enhance nature-based recreation and accessible amenities. HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Recent research shows that colorectal cancer rates are rising among adults aged 20 to 49, and doctors recommend screenings to catch it early. A Mayo Clinic oncologist noted a jump from one in six to one in four patients (changes not linked to gene mutations) while experts examine potential environmental factors. KTTC
- ➤ State data from the Minnesota Department of Health shows that most of southeast Minnesota has few RSV hospitalizations, although Steele County remains high risk (with two cases representing a rate three times the state average).
