COMMUNITY NEWS

  • District 507, a new family fun center planned to open later this year, is located at 1802 2nd St SW near St. Mary’s Hospital. The venue will offer indoor mini golf, interactive darts, bazooka ball and laser tag for local families.  KROC-AM

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Mayo Clinic’s 2025 financial report showed revenue increased more than $1.5 billion to reach $21.5 billion & expenses rose similarly, with 84% of earnings coming from medical services.  KTTC
  • Collider Foundation in Rochester is seeking an Executive Director to lead its efforts in relationship-building, fundraising, and grant cultivation with guidance from a 10-member board. ECONOMY NEWS

  • Gas prices in Rochester hit $3.29 per gallon today, up 10 cents from yesterday amid seasonal refinery shifts and rising global tensions, and experts predict further increases may push prices toward $3.80 or even $4 in the coming days.  KROC-AM

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Rochester Public Schools superintendent Kent Pekel said the district scrapped a plan to shift students from Sunset Terrace Elementary to Gage Elementary and will use the unused space at Gage for the Middle School Alternative Program — avoiding changes to attendance boundaries — as cost-cutting measures continue.  KROC-AM

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • The Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is updating lake management plans for 197 lakes in 52 counties and is seeking feedback from residents, outdoors groups, and officials on fishing experiences and fish habitats before March 31. The feedback will shape future management efforts.  KIMT

HEALTH NEWS

  • MDH is fighting to save $38 million after the CDC terminated its Public Health Infrastructure Grant (a restraining order until March 12 has paused the move). MDH Commissioner Cunningham said the cut could affect rural departments that depend on this funding.  KTTC

  • Jeff Galloway, the late Olympian (80) who popularized the walk/run method, passed away in a Florida hospital after a hemorrhagic stroke, and his approach continues to inspire local runners at Rochester Running Club.  KTTC
