BUSINESS NEWS

  • Kwik Trip's 41st Street location reopened today after a 52-day renovation that added 40 feet to the building — providing wider aisles, a new coffee station and updated food and beverage areas near Target North on Highway 52.  KROC-AM

ECONOMY NEWS

  • GasBuddy surveys showed Minnesota's average gas price increased (9.3 cents per gallon) last week amid the U.S. and Israel conflict with Iran. Petroleum analyst Matt McClain said if the war continues, drivers may face higher prices and should shop around for better rates.  KTTC
  • Gas prices are rising as seasonal shifts (and tensions between the U.S. and Iran) push the national average near $2.94 a gallon and Minnesota prices to about $2.80, with prices expected to reach $3 soon.  KROC-AM
  • AAA said gas prices in Rochester could start to rise today due to global tensions and seasonal travel, with prices expected to increase roughly 25 cents per gallon. The full impact of the rise remains uncertain.  KIMT

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Eighth-grader Riddhi Patel from Rochester Public Schools won the regional spelling bee at the Southeast Service Cooperative on Monday, Mar. 2. He will advance to the Scripps National Spelling Bee in Washington, D.C. from May 24 to May 30.  KIMT
  • RPS teacher Rajaa Ali from Gage Elementary was named a semifinalist for the 2026 Minnesota Teacher of the Year award, one of 30 selected from 128 candidates (the panel will narrow finalists in late March and announce the winner in May).  KTTC

HEALTH NEWS

  • Rochester will host the 8th Annual Community of Wellness Symposium and Gala on April 9th and 10th at the Mayo Civic Center. The two-day event will offer expert talks plus practical health tips and nourishing food to help local residents live longer and with more energy.  KROC-AM
