COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Rochester Public Library is hosting a green thumb open house today and will distribute over 10,000 seed packets (vegetables, herbs and edible flowers) with a scavenger hunt and garden art from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The event encourages residents to grow their own food.  KTTC

CRIME NEWS

  • A 53-year-old woman reported missing earlier this month in Rochester was found safe in another state — police said.  KROC

CULTURE NEWS

  • Bert Kreischer will perform his Permission to Party World Tour at the Mayo Civic Center Arena in Rochester on Friday, March 13 (tickets are available at the box office and Ticketmaster).  KROC-AM

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Rochester Public Schools held a STEM fair on Friday where students in grades 6-12 presented projects on topics like water filtration and artificial intelligence (with representatives from Mayo Clinic, IBM and Homestead in attendance) that sparked interest in STEM careers.  KTTC

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • A total lunar eclipse will show a coppery red blood moon Tuesday, Mar. 3, starting at 5:04 a.m. in Minnesota. The eclipse will last 58 minutes (weather permitting) for those with a clear view of the western sky.  KROC-AM
