BUSINESS NEWS

  • Chip Shots in Rochester will remove its pickleball courts on April 1 to expand its golf simulator, dining, and event options. The business will honor its pickleball legacy with tournaments and events before the change.  KROC-AM
  • Yum Brands announced closures for 250 Pizza Hut locations nationwide, though over 90 restaurants will remain open in Minnesota (the list of affected sites is still pending).  KROC-AM

CULTURE NEWS

  • Rochester Community and Technical College will host TheatreMidwest’s production of The Gun Show at Hill Theater on Feb. 23 at 7:30 p.m. (RSVP is encouraged) as the play uses personal stories to explore America’s relationship with guns and will feature a post-show artist-audience conversation.  KIMT
  • At City Hall on Tuesday, Rochesterfest leaders named Dr. Ashok Patel the new general chairperson for the festival in 2026; Mayor Norton also unveiled the One Nation, Many Stories theme for the button contest honoring the nation's 250th anniversary.  KIMT

HEALTH NEWS

  • On Friday, Mayo Clinic announced it received a $100 million gift from the Bill and Donna Marriott Foundation and the J. Willard and Alice S. Marriott Foundation to fund the Marriott Family Atrium — a two-story building scheduled for completion in 2030.  KTTC
  • The Minnesota Department of Health will host a listening session at Olmsted County Community Services in Rochester on March 5 (9 to 11 a.m.) to collect views for the next state suicide prevention plan from community members, service providers and leaders.  KIMT
  • A new wellness business is providing mobile therapy services at Social-Ice events today, offering Rochester visitors red light, infrared, light and halotherapy designed to support respiratory and skin health. The service costs $25 for a 25-minute session for up to six people while its permanent location (317 Broadway Avenue) undergoes renovation this spring.  KTTC
