COMMUNITY NEWS

  • A Chair Affair 2026 returns as a black-tie event on Saturday, Feb. 28 at Hilton Rochester Mayo Clinic. It will feature live music plus silent and live auctions and artisan chair displays, with ticket sales supporting Boys and Girls Club youth programs.  KROC-AM

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Entrepreneur Sammi Loo, owner of Bebap Korean Eats, Mezza9 and Ootori Sushi, said her sales fell by 50% this January due to cold weather + rising prices, and she urged locals to shop local so every dollar helps keep a job and a dream alive.  KTTC

CULTURE NEWS

  • Gallery 24 is hosting a Winter Workshop Demo Day on Feb. 7 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 120 Elton Hills Drive NW (suite 100). Local artists will demonstrate felting, woodworking, and jewelry making as attendees try new techniques and enjoy giveaways.  KIMT

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Minnesota Department of Transportation will start road projects along I-90 + other highways in southeast Minnesota this year. Crews will resurface key routes as construction picks up when warmer weather returns.  KROC
  • Olmsted County Board is holding a public hearing today at 11 a.m. on a proposed dangerous dog ordinance (similar to Rochester's law) that would require owners to secure, register, and microchip dogs labeled dangerous in unincorporated areas.  KROC-AM

HEALTH NEWS

  • Free dental care and wellness support will be offered for veterans on Feb. 10 and 17 at RCTC Dental Hygiene Clinic at the Heintz Center, provided by RCTC, Bridges Health and the American Legion Auxiliary. Appointments can be scheduled by calling the clinic.  KIMT
